The hotel is located in the center of Ioannina city and its part of the traditional settlement inside the walls of the city's Castle.

The central idea was based on the need to integrate a modern building in a traditional environment, taking into account the specifications of the protected area.

The building adjoins the two boundaries of the plot and the basic volume is placed in such a way as not to hurt the urban fabric of the area creating an open courtyard/garden in both sides of the building. The building has been developed in three levels: the basement, which facilitates a reception and a breakfast area, and the ground and the first floor which facilitate the rooms. The key principal of the design development was the creation of a "stoa", a covered space through which the user can tour into the building and its surroundings. This "stoa" provides a unique special, as well as functional connection among the private and public areas.

Simple lines and carefully selected materials, like wood, stone and metal, are used to create a unique combination of a distinctive modern construction, smoothly integrated in the traditional urban environment of the area. The walls of the basement and ground floor are covered with local stone, while the first floor is coated with a shade of white colour.
